New York's Sunny Winter Saturday

There's still snow on the ground, but finally, a sunny Saturday and the temperature is a delicious mid 30s, so it's time to go out and enjoy it.
O'Connor Sitting Park on Broadway and 78th Street in Elmhurst, Queens
I wanted to go to the Farmer's Market at Union Square.  All those tempting vegetables and fruits, cultivated from upstate farms.  There was plenty of apple pies, apple cider, and other baked goods available.  The place was crowded with people.

And the Citibikes are back!.  This program is more successful than I would have thought.   I was thinking there would be a lot of accidents and thefts, but it actually worked.

Nothing better to do on a nice Saturday than a relaxing stroll through downtown Manhattan.

Digging out: Part 2

I feel for the car owners who find themselves in this position.  I wonder what happened to this particular car owner?  Perhaps they themselves are stuck somewhere and couldn't get back into New York because their flights were cancelled.  You know that after digging their car out of this muck, the next trip is to the car wash.
It's not as cold today and it's raining.  The snows are going to start melting and will be washed away.  Watch out for slush!

After all this snow, I know that a lot of us can't wait for Spring.  It'll be nice to go out again, and without coats.

Digging out from all that snow

What I love about living in New York is that after all the snowstorms (once in a decade kind of winter weather) we've learned to get past it and keep going.  This Queens street scene says it.  We've gotten so much snow, another 2-4 inches this morning, and we've learned how to be really good about shoveling the snow as soon as possible and clearing a path so that we can just keep going.  Life is worth living and snow is not going to prevent us from enjoying it.

The Nasrid Palaces in the Alhambra in Granada is one of the most romantic places on earth.  On this most romantic of occasions, I wish everyone a wonderful, romantic weekend.

Headed for Granada, Spain!

Okay folks, I'm going on vacation to ... Granada, Spain.  I will get the chance to see the famous Alhambra! Okay, enough with the question marks.  Seriously I'm more concerned about having good weather so that my plane actually takes off and I get to go to Granada.  I will be posting some of the sights and sounds of Granada over the next  few days (assuming I'm able to connect).  So exciting and I just can't wait.
